Immerse yourself in the lights and music of Christmas and visit Isola Pescatori - a natural "nativity scene" with its characteristic alleys - and at sunset sail with reserved taxi boats (covered, with 50 seats) in the Borromean Gulf between the Islands of Light, the extraordinary Christmas lighting of buildings and palaces of the enchanting Isola dei Pescatori and the prestigious Isola Bella, on Lake Maggiore. 1. Stresa with the Paintings of Light in the City
Reach Stresa for a day on the lake, or on your way back from Santa Claus's Grotto in Ornavasso (20 minutes by car): this trip can also be combined with the events in Ornavasso, during the day or on the weekend, or chosen as an independent trip. In the center of Stresa take your selfies with the Quadri di Luce installations. On the dates of 1-8-14-15-21-22 December (near the stations in the city from 11 am to 1 pm and from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm you can also meet the elves!
2. Reach Isola Pescatori whenever you want
Our Isole di Luce "package" includes 2 navigation services: the first - at free time - is the connection from Stresa to Isola Pescatori (about 10 minutes of navigation). We recommend that you dedicate about 20 minutes ( possible stops in the island's premises) to visit the Island, a natural "nativity scene" with the characteristic alleys where in December the resident islanders (a few dozen) create small nativity scenes. Directly from Isola Pescatori you will then embark for the Cruise between the Illuminated Islands, (second navigation service) with departure at the booked time and return to Stresa (about 30 minutes).
3.Cruise to the Islands of Light
Directly from Isola Pescatori, at the time booked online (click here to book), you will embark on modern motorboats (50 seats, covered) for a wonderful Christmas cruise of about 30 minutes in the Borromean Gulf, among the illuminated Islands, returning to Stresa. For unforgettable photos and memories, in the most beautiful lake gulf in the world made even more magical by the Christmas lights.
To stay, have lunch or dinner in Stresa or on Isola Pescatori, it is recommended to book directly with the operator.
What are the Islands of Light on Lake Maggiore
The Islands of Light on Lake Maggiore are a project of symphonies of lights and design that during the Christmas period make Isola Bella and Isola dei Pescatori shine in the Borromean Gulf of Lake Maggiore. This extraordinary Christmas lighting will illuminate the renowned architecture and fishermen's houses in a natural context unique in the world. The project is proposed by the Local Tourist Board "Distretto dei Laghi"
When are the Islands of Light on Lake Maggiore
The artistic illumination of the Islands of Light will last from November 15, 2024 to January 12, 2025: to experience them up close with a Christmas cruise the dates are: November 30, December 1-7-8-14-15-21-22-23-26-28 2024 and January 4-5 2025.

Where to embark to see the Islands of Light
The offer includes two navigation services already included in the cost of the ticket: the connection from Stresa (boarding in Piazza Marconi) to Isola dei Pescatori, at any time - connection duration approximately 10 minutes - We recommend dedicating about twenty minutes to visiting the island possible stops for food, lunch or dinner (book directly). For the Cruise, boarding takes place directly from Isola Pescatori at the time booked online (click here to book). You will receive all the details in the booking confirmation email.
Is it possible to do Santa's Grotto Cruise in one day?
Of course, you can participate in both events on the same day if you wish. Santa's Grotto is in Ornavasso, 15 km (20 minutes by car on the motorway - free section - towards Milan, Baveno-Stresa exit) from Stresa, where you embark for the Isole di Luce. With the booking email you will receive all the useful information. We recommend leaving from Ornavasso about 1 hour and 45 minutes before the booked time for the Cruise (which leaves from Isola Pescatori).
Is it possible to participate only in the Cruise?
Of course, Santa's Grotto in Ornavasso and the Christmas Cruise among the Islands of Light are two independent events, the offer is valid for everyone.
Strollers and dogs
It is possible to take on board both strollers and dogs, obviously tame and cared for by their human friends.
Differently abled
Unfortunately this event is not accessible to disabled people.
Covered Motorboats, Clothing and Weather
Covered motorboats are used for the event. However, it is recommended to wear clothing appropriate to the season and to respect the indicated times, also to avoid waiting.
